Lee Jun Young, Jeong Eun Ji, And More Share What Makes “Pump Up The Healthy Love” The Ultimate Feel-Good Rom-Com

The cast of KBS’s upcoming drama “Pump Up the Healthy Love” has shared key points to look out for ahead of the drama’s premiere!

“Pump Up the Healthy Love” is a rom-com drama about Do Hyun Joong (Lee Jun Young), a passionate and determined gym owner who radically transforms the lives of his overly anxious gym members. Jeong Eun Ji plays Lee Mi Ran, an assistant manager at a travel agency who joins the gym to get over a recent breakup.

Lee Jun Young, who plays Do Hyun Joong—a gym maniac and former world-class bodybuilder suddenly left in charge of an old, rundown gym—pointed out, “It would be fun to watch how Hyun Joong, who’s clumsy in everything but working out, gradually grows as a person.” He described the drama as “rough around the edges but charming,” adding, “While filming, I found myself thinking, ‘Ah, this is kind of cute,’ more often than I expected.”

Jeong Eun Ji, who plays Lee Mi Ran—a gym newbie who throws herself into fitness after a devastating breakup—shared, “I hope people will simply enjoy it for what it is. It’s not the kind of drama that demands deep thinking—it’s something you can watch with ease. And if you’re passionate about fitness, there’ll be plenty of scenes that make you laugh and relate to, so please look forward to it.”

Drawing on the drama’s Korean title “24/7 Health Club,” Jeong Eun Ji described the show as being “open around the clock,” explaining, “Just like the name, it’s something you can come back to any time. It’s a space where you can laugh, relate, and even feel comforted. I hope viewers drop in whenever they want—just like a 24-hour gym.”

Lee Mi Do and Lee Seung Woo, who play a dynamic duo at the gym, also highlighted what to look out for. Lee Mi Do, who plays long-time gym member Rosa, said, “Every character reflects real people living in today’s world. As you watch, you’ll find someone who reminds you of yourself.” She added, “’Pump Up the Healthy Love’ is about strength. It’s a high-energy show that inspires viewers to strengthen both their bodies and minds. I hope watching it will give people the boost they need.”

Lee Seung Woo, who plays the gym’s cheerful mascot Alex, said, “Each character comes to the gym with their own story. Please watch how they start working out, how they heal through fitness, and the realistic, relatable episodes that unfold along the way.” He added, “’Pump Up the Healthy Love’ should be your Wednesday-Thursday 9:50 p.m. routine. Like daily workouts, I hope it becomes a happy ritual to end your day on a good note.”

Lastly, the gym’s so-called “Witch Trio”—Park Sung Yeon, Lee Ji Hye, and Hong Yoon Hwa—each gave their own creative descriptions of the show, calling it “Heart-pounding Muscle Gains,” “Healthy Vibes,” and “Top-Tier Content,” respectively. Park Sung Yeon explained, “You’ll gain both muscle and healing in this show. Keep an eye out for the wild chemistry between all the colorful characters.” Lee Ji Hye added, “Each episode centers around a different character, and the way they solve their problems is so unique and healthy. Watch how they face their struggles and learn to love themselves.” Hong Yoon Hwa concluded, “Seeing the actors’ physical transformations is part of the fun—so please don’t miss the broadcast!”

“Pump Up the Healthy Love” will premiere on April 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST following the conclusion of “Villains Everywhere.”
