3 Intriguing Relationships To Keep An Eye On In “Pump Up The Healthy Love”
Upcoming drama “Pump Up the Healthy Love” has highlighted three key character relationships that viewers should pay close attention to!
“Pump Up the Healthy Love” is a rom-com drama about Do Hyun Joong (Lee Jun Young), a passionate and determined gym owner who radically transforms the lives of his overly anxious gym members. Jeong Eun Ji plays Lee Mi Ran, an assistant manager at a travel agency who joins the gym to get over a recent breakup.
Ahead of the drama’s premiere, here are three standout relationships to look forward to in “Pump Up the Healthy Love”:
The bickering between gym owner Do Hyun Joong and long-time gym staff Rosa
The 24/7 Health Club is run by three main staff members: Do Hyun Joong, Rosa (Lee Mi Do), a long-time gym member who expertly handles even the most difficult clients, and Alex (Lee Seung Woo), the gym’s cheerful mascot.
The relationship between trainer Hyun Joong and Rosa is full of constant friction. Rosa sees Hyun Joong—now co-owner of the gym—as an unwelcome intruder and doesn’t hide her dislike. Whenever they meet, tensions flare. Still, despite their nonstop squabbling, their teamwork somehow works, and their playful chemistry brings life to the gym.
Can Hyun Joong and Rosa set aside their differences and run the gym together? How will their relationship evolve? Their unpredictable dynamic is one of the drama’s biggest highlights.
The fierce workplace rivalry between Mi Ran and her co-worker Ye Jin
Gym newbie Lee Mi Ran works as an assistant manager in the product development team at a travel agency. She frequently butts heads with Kim Ye Jin (Nam Kyu Hee), a co-worker who joined the company at the same time as her.
Mi Ran is laid-back and creative, while Ye Jin, who feels uneasy about Mi Ran’s relaxed attitude, often tries to provoke her with harsh remarks hidden behind a sweet smile. Mi Ran and Ye Jin will showcase a realistic workplace rivalry that viewers can relate to.
The lovey-dovey couple Lee Ji Ran and Kang Dan
Mi Ran’s closest allies include her unpredictable younger sister, Lee Ji Ran (Lee Da Eun), and Ji Ran’s excessively affectionate boyfriend, Kang Dan (Lee Sang Jin). Ji Ran constantly teases and annoys Mi Ran, but deep down, she knows her sister better than anyone.
Determined to help Mi Ran find true love, Ji Ran and Kang Dan actively give her relationship advice. But Mi Ran can’t help feeling uncomfortable with the couple’s over-the-top public displays of affection. The chaotic yet heartwarming chemistry between Mi Ran and this lovebird duo will add a fun layer to the story.
“Pump Up the Healthy Love” will premiere on April 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST following the conclusion of “Villains Everywhere.”
