Kim Min Seok And Lee Hyun Wook Brace For A Fierce Face-Off In New Drama “Shark: The Storm”
TVING’s original series “Shark” is back with a new season!
Originally released in 2021, “Shark: The Beginning” made waves as TVING’s first original film. Based on a popular webtoon, the story returns as a six-part series titled “Shark: The Storm.” This new season follows Cha Woo Sol (Kim Min Seok), who, after being released from prison, dedicates himself to becoming a professional mixed martial arts fighter. But just as he begins to reclaim his life, he finds himself drawn into a brutal fight for survival against a new and ruthless enemy Hyun Woo Yong (Lee Hyun Wook). No longer fighting just to survive, Woo Sol now rises to protect those he cares about.
Kim Min Seok reprises his role as Cha Woo Sol, a young man striving to become a pro MMA fighter. Having survived a hellish past, he dreams of a new life after prison. Despite the stigma of being a criminal, he begins to diligently rebuild his life—until his quiet resolve is shattered by the return of a looming threat.
Lee Hyun Wook returns as Hyun Woo Yong, a formidable villain who recognized Season 1’s villain Bae Seok Chan’s (Jung Won Chang) potential and brought him into his organization. Now, Hyun Woo Yong steps fully into the spotlight as an underground fighting organization mastermind and the head of the martial arts association. He recruits fighters for his own twisted pleasure, running a brutal and illegal league fueled by violence and dominance.
The newly released poster builds tension with the intense auras of Woo Sol and Woo Yong. Woo Sol stares ahead with unwavering determination, his bruised face a badge of resilience. The line, “I’ll fight—like a shark that never stops,” hints at the unrelenting battle ahead.
Meanwhile, Woo Yong’s chilling stare radiates a threatening presence, his cryptic declaration—“Cha Woo Sol, this is destiny”—foreshadowing the chaos to come.
TVING’s original series “Shark: The Storm” will be out on May 15.
