Kim Soo Hyun Reportedly Sued For 3 Billion Won In Damages By Advertisers + Agency Responds Briefly

Kim Soo Hyun has reportedly been sued by two companies due to his recent controversies.

On April 28, it was reported that two companies that had hired Kim Soo Hyun as an advertising model (referred to as companies “A” and “B”) had sued the actor for a reimbursement of the fees they had paid him, along with compensation for damages. According to sources in the legal sphere, the companies sued Kim Soo Hyun for a total of approximately 3 billion won (approximately $2.1 million) combined.

Meanwhile, a third company—“C”—has also terminated its advertising model contract with Kim Soo Hyun due to breach of trust, and it is said to be considering a similar lawsuit for model  fee reimbursement and a penalty for breach of contract.

Attorney Park Sung Woo of Wooree Law Firm, who is representing the plaintiffs in this case, remarked, “Kim Soo Hyun signed advertising model contracts with 15 different brands, and based on domestic contracts, he is said to have been paid around 1 billion to 1.2 billion won [approximately $698,000 to $837,000] in model fees per contract.”

“Usually, advertisers tend to be reluctant to become known as the first [company] to file a lawsuit against a model,” he continued. “However, once it is revealed that one company has filed a lawsuit, it is likely that more advertisers will join in suing.”

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency GOLDMEDALIST responded to the report by stating, “We have not yet confirmed whether a lawsuit has been filed.”
