Se7en Named as Performing Artist for VMAJ

2006-04-20

Singer Se7en will perform at Tokyo’s Yoyogi Stadium once again on May 27 after successfully holding a concert there on April 15 and 16. This time, he has been chosen as a performing artist for the Video Music Award Japan (VMAJ) 2006.

Organized by MTV Japan, VMAJ is an award ceremony for the year’s best music videos, where famous pop-artists not only from Korea and Japan but also from the U.S. attend. Last year, singer Rain staged a congratulatory performance and received the "Best Buzz Asia from Korea" award.

Se7en will perform with other chosen performing artists such as Japanese singers Koda Kumi and AI and American rock band Hoobastank. He is also nominated for the Best Buzz Asia from Korea award along with Clazziquai, Joosuc and Tei. The winner will be decided by a poll that will continue until May 7.

Se7en is also nominated for the Best Korean Artist for the MTV Asia Award (MAA) 2006 to be held on May 6 in Thailand. Other candidates include Wheesung, Buzz, Tei, and SG Wanna Be. Last year, Rain won the award at the MAA, which is held for all Asian pop artists.

The results of a poll for the MAA will be released on April 28. Before that date on April 21, Se7en and other candidates will attend a voting party at a club in Seoul.
