2006-04-21
The song "Miracle" by the group "Super Junior" has topped the overseas music chart of "Channel V," a music channel in Thailand, for four consecutive weeks.
According to Super Junior’s agency, SM Entertainment, on Apr. 21, "Miracle" from the group’s first album topped the music chart on Mar. 25, just four days after the album was released in Thailand on Mar. 21. The song has since remained the chart leader for four weeks consecutively.
Super Junior has also ranked eighth on the chart for the song "Show Me Your Love," which it sang jointly with the group "TVXQ."
Other Korean singers have also performed well in Thailand. Singer Rain has ranked third with his song "Sad Tango"; TVXQ fifth and 15th with its songs "Always There" and "Rising Sun," respectively; and singer K 19th with his song "Girlfriend."
Also joining the top 20 list are world-class musicians such as "The Black Eyed Peas," "Pink," "Madonna," "Craig David," "James Blount," and "Arctic Monkeys."
Based on the statistics of songs requested by TV audiences, "Channel V" releases domestic and overseas charts separately every week.
"We’ve confirmed from ‘Channel V’ that TVXQ’s ‘Rising Sun’ and Super Junior’s ‘Miracle’ have been the only two songs that have topped the channel’s overseas music charts for four consecutive weeks since the channel’s launch in 1996," said an official from SM Entertainment.
