Top 20 - April week 5

See Ya rises to No. 1 this week with "여인의향기" (Scent of a woman). The female trio upstaged Vibe’s "그남자 그여자" (That Man, That Woman) for the top spot. Their success is amazing. They are the first all female groups to hit No. 1 on this chart since its inception last year. They also won the Inky Gayo mutizen award with this song last week. I cannot remember when was the last time a new female group had such a huge success with their debut song. Ever since the breakup of SES and the inactivity of FINKL, not many female groups have had such good chart results (plus good album sales too). See Ya has a bright future.

As expected, SG Wannabe made a big jump, moving up 16 spots to No. 3 with their new song "내사람" (Partner for life). What’s more interesting is that in next week’s No. 1 battle we may see the male (original) version of SG Wannabe Vs their pupil See Ya, known as the female version of SG Wannabe.

Two new songs this week, led by Tony’s "유츄프라카치아" (Yutzpracachia’s Love). This song is ranked very high on the internet charts just behind SG Wannabe, and it should move into the top 10 next week. The other new song is from newcomer Maybee. She is a lyricist turned singer. Her previous works include Hyori’s "10 Minutes", "Get Ya", Kim Jong Kook’s "Poison", and MC Mong’s "A Letter Written To You". Her debut song titled "다소" (Plenty of smile), at No. 17 this week. Let see if her own songs can be as successful as the songs she wrote for other singers.
