Top 20 - May week 1

As expected, SG Wannabe moves up to the top spot this week with "내사람" (Partner for life). This song is storming up on every charts in Korea, and with good album sales (alreday over 100,000), it further helps the popularity of the song. Expect this song to stay at #1 for a while…..

Their good friend Vibe is still holding on to the #2 spot with 그남자 그여자 (That Man, That Woman). The song is gaining some grounds after Vibe’s long awaited appearance on gayo shows last week – they appeared on MBC’s Show! Music Core as the guest for "power recital", and also on KBS Yoon Do Hyun’s Love Letter. Both performances were awesome! But still it is not enough to hold off SG Wannabe.

See Ya drops back to No. 3 with "여인의향기" (Scent of a woman) after spending last week at No. 1. It’s a pity that they couldn’t even stay at No. 2, looking up to their mentor SG Wannabe. It also denies a sweep for the top 2 spots for the hot songwriting duo of Cho Young Soo and Ahn Young Min. But they did score their 3rd No. 1 song this year. The other song was SS501’s "Snow Prince".

The biggest jump this week belongs to Tony An. His "유츄프라카치아" (Yutzpracachia’s Love) moves up 10 spots to No. 4. He may be able to challange SG Wannabe for the top spot next week.

4 new entries this week, led by the title song of Kim Jong Kook’s 4th album "편지" (Letter) at No. 10. Kim Jong Kook won the DaeSang for all 3 major TV networks last year (and remember he won the Soompi DaeSang here as well!). However, he’s been called upon for army duty just prior to the release of his 4th album. He won’t be able to do any album activities now, this will definitely hurt the album sales and chart popularities.

Besides Kim Jong Kook, Lee Seung Ki comes in at No. 12 with his follow up song "입모양" (Your Lips). 2 rock groups also enter the chart this week, Loveholic and Transfixion. Their new songs are at No. 18 and 19 respectively.
