'Daejanggeum-ho' ready to fly in Asian skies
May 10, INCHEON, South Korea — Asiana Airlines, one of South Korea’s two flag carriers, opens to media a Boeing-767 flight named after Daejanggeum, the main protagonist of the popular local TV drama by the same name, at Incheon International Airport outside Seoul on May 10. The plane with several printed images of the character on its body will fly on routes linking South Korea with Japan, China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia for one year. The move is part of the airline’s marketing strategy to spread Hallyu, or the popularity of Korean pop culture in Asia. (Yonhap)
