Top 20 - August week 1

Ha Dong Kyun stole the top spot with "그녀를사랑해줘요" (Please love her). This song has not yet hit No. 1 in any charts in Korea yet, but is consistently ranked in the top 5. As I mentioned before, his album is also selling quite well. Added to the fact that Superjunior is changing song to promote "Dancing Out" now, Ha Dong Kyun is able to get to No. 1 with a low score of 759 this week. He edged out Typhoon, who remained at No. 2 with "그래서…" (So).

4 new songs this week, including a re-entry by Suho. The highest debut is at No. 10 with yet another song by See Ya. These girls are changing songs so fast. As soon as their last hit "구두" fell off the chart, they are coming back with a new song. However, their new song "미친 사랑의 노래" (Crazy Love Song) is not coming from their debut album, but from the KBS drama "Invisible Man Choi Jang Soo" OST. See Ya is the first artist to have 4 top 20 (and top 10 as a matter of fact) hits on our chart this year. They have been on the chart with their 4 hit songs for 19 consecutive weeks. That is amazing for a new artist. See Ya’s song is not the only song from a drama OST, we also have Loveholic and Sweet Sorrow’s songs. It is quite rare to see 3 drama songs in the top 20.

The other 2 brand new songs are from Turtles (No. 15) and Lim Jung Hee (No. 20). After a long layoff (because of Turtleman’s health), Turtles is coming back with their 4th album and the title song "비행기" (Aeroplanes) debuts at No. 15 this week. Early last year, they had a big hit "Bingo" which went to No. 3 on our chart, let see if they can duplicate that success this time.

Special Note: Popular songwriter Cho Young Soo has 4 top 10 songs this week – hits by Kim Jong Kook, Jung Jae Wook, SG Wannabe, and See Ya are all coming out of him.
