Kim Jung-min to Tie Knot with Japanese Singer

Aug 8, 2006

Singer Kim Jung-min, 37, will marry Korean-Japanese singer Tani Rumiko, 28, on October 21.

The two were introduced to each other by singer Park Hye-kyung, a regular guest of a CBS radio show hosted by Kim. A person close to Kim said the two became close in just months and that even the members of Kim’s band haven’t seen his fiancee yet.

An English major, Tani Rumiko debuted as a singer at the age of 19 and has also worked as a model. She has released several singles and participated in the recording of the original soundtrack of the movie “Bunshinsaba.” She will visit Korea August 21 to begin wedding preparations.

"I will introduce my bride on the day she tries on her wedding dress. I have chosen Jeju Island and Busan for our honeymoon to introduce her to Korean culture," said Kim.

Kim Tae-wook, the CEO of i-Wedding Networks, which is supervising Kim’s wedding preparations, said he promised to help Kim with his wedding in return for his participation in his own wedding six years ago.

Kim will propose to his fiancee again on August 8 on his radio show.
