Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - February Week 1
Secret continues their hold onto the top spot of our chart for the third consecutive week with “Shy Boy”. They even widen the scoring gap with DBSG’s “Keep Your Head Down”. It may come as a surprise to many fans, but if you look at various music charts across Korea, Secret has been winning most of it. DBSG without doubt dominates the TV Station rankings and sales, but our Soompi Chart takes into account many different sources so our result may be a little bit different from what you see on TV.
As expected, both Seung Ri’s songs show up in the top 10 this week, with “What Can I Do” at No. 6 and “V.V.I.P” at No. 8. In between his two songs are G.Dragon and T.O.P’s “High High”, so Big Bang members have three songs in the top 10.
The chart next week may not have as many movements as there usually is since Korea is celebrating Lunar New Year this week.

Comment: Yoon Do Hyun Band (YB) is one of the most well known and respected rock bands in Korea. Front man Yoon Do Hyun is also a famous TV personality, having hosted the KBS late night contemporary music show “Yoon Do Hyun Love Letter” for many years. “Love Two” was one of the band’s famous hit songs. This song was a big hit during the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. Yoon Do Hyun’s husky voice fits perfectly to the song’s melody.
