Super Junior’s “Bonamana,” Highest Selling Album of 2010

Super Junior’s fourth album, “Bonamana,” was the highest selling album of 2010 according to the Gaon Charts, Korea’s leading record chart run by the Korea Music Content Industry Association (KMCIA).

Gaon declined to give out any specific numbers as they will release exact album sales figures and details on the online charts on Feb. 9th when they hold a special meeting with local press members. During this meeting, Gaon will give an overview of the 2010 Gaon Charts and explain their vision for 2011, and also award the highest selling musicians in album charts and digital MP3 charts.

This is the first time album sales figures are being released since KMCIA did in 2008 and it’s the first-ever release of in-depth online digital sales data, according to local media. “By releasing official data based on real numbers we’ll be able to establish fairness in creating official music charts. Gaon Chart plans to unveil every data related to music charts periodically on its homepage,” an official from Gaon Chart said.
