Kim Tae Won of Boohwal Diagnosed with Stomach Cancer

It has recently been revealed that Kim Tae Won of the legendary rock band Boohwal was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Official statements were not made purposefully on Kim’s agency’s part, but instead, the news was shown on next week’s preview of “The Qualifications of Man.”

As one of the specials on the show, the men had been tested for stomach cancer at the Samsung Seoul Hospital. It was during this segment that Kim Tae Won was diagnosed. Only after the preview was aired did Kim Tae Won express his feelings at the time.

After the diagnosis, Kim underwent two surgeries to have the tumor removed, and after ten days in the hospital, was released on February 26.  Thankfully, however, the cancer was diagnosed when it was still in its initial stage. Therefore, if Kim recovers well, the two surgeries to remove the tumor should be sufficient in getting rid of the cancer altogether.

Representatives of the “Qualifications of Man” confirmed Kim’s condition on February 27 and stated, “The diagnosis came as a shock not only to Kim Tae Won, but also to his colleagues and staff of the show. After discussing in detail, Kim Tae Won decided to undergo surgery, and also decided to have the entire process broadcasted.”

It has also been rumored that because Kim Tae Won and his agency wanted to keep his condition undisclosed, Kim attended all his scheduled activities from the time he was diagnosed to until he underwent surgery, including Boo Hwal’s concert.

Both surgeries were deemed successful, and Kim Tae Won is currently recuperating.  We pray and hope for a speedy recovery for Kim Tae Won!
