Lee Jung Jae, Jeon Ji Hyun, and Kim Hye Soo Cast in “Thieves”
Director Choi Dong Hoon’s new movie “Thieves” has finished casting. Director Choi debuted with the movie “The Big Swindle” in 2004 and has several hits under his belt. In 2006, he produced “Tazza” with actors Kim Hye Soo and Yoo Hae Jin. In 2009, he directed “The Taoist Wizard Jeon Woo Chi” with Lim Soo Jung and Kang Dong Won as his leads. His new movie “Thieves” cynically portrays our society’s irrationality through clever and original characters. “Thieves” boasts a stellar cast which include Lee Jung Jae, Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Hye Soo, Kim Hae Sook, Oh Dal Soo, Kim Soo Hyun, and more.
These seven actors have decided to co-star in Director Choi Dong Hoon’s new action thriller because of its witty dialogue and unique charm. Kim Hye Soo plays Pepsi, a beautiful and talented safe-cracker who steals anything and everything within reach. Lee Jung Jae acts as Popeye, the wire-specialist who hopes to strike it big. Jeon Ji Hyun portrays Anycall, a gorgeous high-wire specialist. Kim Hae Sook plays Chewed-out Gum, a soon-to-be-retired thief who’s gifted in acting; and Kim Soo Hyun acts as the rookie member Zampanò. These thieves make a collected group that is controlled by mastermind Makaohbak (Kim Yoon Suk).
The movie chronicles the thieves’ grand scheme to steal a rare diamond called the “Tears of the Sun.” During their journey, the group faces a series of twists and betrayals. Expectations for this movie increased as Jeon Ji Hyun, the ideal woman of every men’s hearts, and Kim Soo Hyun, a rookie actor recognized for his work in recent drama “Dream High,” were casted. “Thieves” will start filming in May and aims for a winter 2011 release.
