Korean Antivirus Guru to Narrate Science Documentary Film
Ahn Cheol Soo, endowed professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and founder of AhnLab Inc., Korea’s largest antivirus software company, will be narrating a 3D space documentary film. Produced by IMAX and Warner Brothers, “Hubble 3D,” will feature Ahn’s narration, making it his first-ever movie voice-over. “It seems like a lot of people are spending too much time on the Internet nowadays resulting in less reading and lower interest in science overall. I hope this movie motivates people to show more interest in the space and science,” Ahn said in a statement.
“Hubble 3D” is a documentary film about the Hubble Space Telescope repair mission, organized by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The movie contains close-up footage of the telescope over 45 minutes taken by an IMAX camera on STS-125 (Servicing Mission 4 in May 2009). Co-produced by NASA, “Hubble 3D” was directed and produced by Canadian director Toni Myers, who’s best known for his 2006 film “Deep Sea” and 2009 film “Under the Sea 3D.” The movie was released in the U.S. in March, 2010, with narration by actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Ahn said, “I think this is going to be a great experience. I’m a bit concerned if I’ll do a good job but I’m really looking forward to it.” The movie opens on May 5th, which is the “Children’s Day” in Korea.
