Song Joong Ki & Park Bo Young Team Up for Animation “Rio”
What happens when two “scandalous” stars meet? Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s Song Joong Ki and Speed Scandal’s Park Bo Young teamed up to narrate the animation Rio. On April 20th, the two met at CGV theaters in Seoul for the press conference.
Rio is a 3D animation film by Blue Sky Studios, the company that also produced hits Ice Age 1, 2, and 3, and directed by Carlos Saldanha. The story is about Blu, the last male bird of its kind, and his journey to Rio de Janerio, Brazil, to find a female bird to mate with. Blu, however, was raised as a pet; and he has to face the harsh reality when he goes out into the wild. The movie was released on April 15th in the United States and made over $39 million in its first week. Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, and Jamie Foxx voiced the English version of Rio.
Rio will open in theaters throughout Korea on July 28th.
