Second Concert of “SM Town Live in Paris” Sells Out in 10 Minutes
The second concert of “SM Town Live World Tour in Paris” has sold out again—this time in less than 10 minutes—exemplifying the growing and explosive popularity of K-Pop in Europe. Tickets were made available from Monday morning (French time) on LiveNation (www.livenation.fr) and FnacSpectacles (www.fnacspectacles.com), but both sites experienced temporary shutdowns due to the sudden increase in traffic that sought to purchase tickets to one of the 6,000 or so seats. “We hope this concert will help proliferate K-Pop’s influence and grow its popularity all over Europe,” SME said in a statement.
Today’s sellout doesn’t come as a surprise as it only took 15 minutes to sellout the first concert, which resulted in hundreds of French K-Pop fans holding a street mob event in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris earlier this month. “SM Town Live World Tour in Paris” is scheduled to be held for two days on June 10th and 11th at the Le Zenith de Paris Concert Hall. For this concert, all of the major SME artists are expected to perform, including DBSK, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, and f(x). Following the Paris concerts, “SM Town Live World Tour” will head to Tokyo in September where more than 100,000 tickets have been sold out.
