DBSK’s Yunho Wows Crowd and Judges
“Kim Yuna’s Kiss and Cry” aired its pilot episode yesterday, and fans were both delighted and disappointed with the figure skating performances by their favorite stars. DBSK’s Yunho surprised everyone with an amazing performance! At an interview before his performance, Yunho said, “I wanted to show people that I’m a hard worker. It’s been eight years since my debut, and I needed a new turning point. My new challenge on ice made me feel like I was a rookie again.”
He performed to “Homage to Michael Jackson” and showed up in full costume, reminiscent of the king himself. Yunho wowed the crowd with spins, jumps, and various connecting moves going both forwards and backwards. His accomplishments are even more incredible considering he only started skating two months ago. Fellow band mate Changmin, SHINee’s Min Ho, f(x)’s Sulli, T-ara’s Ji Yeon, and Yoo In Na gave a standing ovation once he hit his ending pose.
Olympic champion Kim Yuna stated, “Yunho’s performance was beyond my expectations. I was very surprised because I was not expecting jumps and spins.” He scored a total of 35.3 out of 40 points, the highest score of the night. He was by far one of the strongest competitors of the ten celebrity participants.
“Kim Yuna’s Kiss and Cry” is a figure skating survival program hosted by figure skating queen Kim Yuna. Ten celebrity contestants will pair up with professional skaters to compete for the chance to perform at Kim Yuna’s upcoming ice show in August. Other celebrity challengers include f(x)’s Krystal, IU, Son Dambi, Seo Ji Suk, Lee Ah Hyun, Park Joon Geum, Jin Ji Hee, Kim Byung Man, and Lee Gyu Hyuk.
