"The Greatest Love" Ends Tonight: Happy Ending or Sad Ending?
With only one last episode left to air tonight, there has been much speculation going on about the ending of MBC’s “The Greatest Love” among viewers. On yesterday’s episode, Dokko Jin (Cha Sung Won) and Gu Ae Jung (Gong Hyo Jin) reunited after Dokko Jin’s successful heart surgery.
Also, Dokko Jin surprised Gu Ae Jung by making a guest appearance on Kim Goo Ra’s talk show and confessing that his ideal type is her. He further impressed her by revealing, “Gu Ae Jung is not only my ideal type but also the woman I’m currently in love with. Yes, we are in a relationship. We are in love with each other.”
However, the last episode’s teaser featured a scene of Gu Ae Jung being taken to the hospital due to a car accident, fueling curiosity whether the ending will turn out to be happy or tragic.
Viewers have shown various reactions such as “Gu Ae Jung becomes unconscious due to a car accident?,” “I hope the spoiler isn’t true,” “Is it going to be the Hong sisters’ first sad ending drama?” They also expressed “I’m nervous that it’s going to be a sad ending,” “Please keep the potato flower and the people alive,” “Please save Gu Ae Jung and let the two escape to somewhere far away.”
MBC’s “The Greatest Love” continued to lead the Wed-Thurs drama ratings chart with an impressive 18.0% on Wednesday despite a slight increase of 0.1% from last Thursday, according to statistics by AGB Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, KBS’s “Romance Town” and SBS’s “City Hunter” which are aired during the same time slot received 10.2% and 13.4%, respectively.
