2NE1 Achieves All-Kill Status Within Hours of "I Am the Best" Release
The latest single “I Am the Best” from the talented 2NE1 was released earlier this morning. The audio teasers released this week leading up to today undoubtedly created excitement among netizens and music fans alike, coupled with the fact that 2NE1 would be back promoting again. Within twenty-four hours of release the fierce quartet went on to prove that they were indeed “the best” once again, as they’ve topped nearly all the K-Pop charts! After a few hours of the single being available online, the only chart they hadn’t captured yet was Monkey 3 as they sat at the number two spot. However, as the day moved on, so did 2NE1, as they currently have achieved All-Kill status topping all of the major charts (including Monkey 3)!
Despite a few setbacks, 2NE1 has experienced in preparing for their comeback, in the end they have been successful. “I Am the Best” was delayed release by two weeks due to the company focusing attention and providing support to 2NE1’s labelmate, Daesung, during his time of need. The music video for “I Am the Best” has been completed, but the debut is now postponed for a few days. It will most likely be released on Friday or Saturday of this week.
For those of you who are international fans, “I Am the Best” is available for purchase and download via iTunes. However, there have been some technical difficulties for those who have attempted to purchase the track from iTunes. Some people received an error message to the effect of, “Your request could not be completed”. This happens if the user clicks on the title of the song or the image, but it seems to work fine if the purchaser searches for the track and then makes the purchase as though they were downloading an entire album. Here’s hoping that word has gotten around to those in charge and they have rectified the issue.
The amazing ladies of YG will perform their new energetic dance hit coupled with their powerful choreography to the public on this week’s broadcast of Inkigayo. Also be sure to look for the mini album with Park Bom’s solo “Don’t Cry” and their previous hit “Lonely” as well when it is available in stores in July.
