Lee Jong Suk cast in movie "Korea"
Actor Lee Jong Suk who rose to fame through popular drama “Secret Garden” has now been cast in an upcoming sports film “Korea“, he will star alongside Ha Ji Won and Bae Doo Na.
“Korea” is based on the true life story of the 41st World Table Tennis Championships (1991) that took place in Chiba city in Japan. The story is about how the North Korean player Li Bun Hui (Bae Doo Na) and South Korean player Hyun Jung Hwa (Ha Ji Won) who overcame difficulties and formed a joint team to stun China, the invincible powerhouse in major spots, to clinch the gold medal in the women’s doubles final. Lee Jong Suk will take on the role of Choi Kyung Sub, a player on the North Korean national table tennis team.
Filming has commenced in May and Lee Jong Suk is currently working on his character’s North Korean accent and training in table tennis with his co-stars.
The film is set to open in theatres in Fall.
