Kim Hyun Joong’s “Break Down” Takes Over Asian Music Charts
Kim Hyun Joong’s first solo album, “Break Down,” has been a massive hit in the entire Asian region so far as it has taken over various music charts in multiple Asian countries since its release last month.
The main track with the same title, “Break Down,” first topped Japan’s Oricon Foreign Album Sales Chart on June 8th, followed by consecutive #1s on Taiwan’s G-Music and Five Music’s Korea-Japan Music Charts. It also took over KKBOX, Hong Kong’s largest online music chart, in the Korean-Japanese pop category, with not just the title track “Break Down,” but also “Please” and “Kiss Kiss.” In Thailand, “Break Down” ranked #2 on the Channel V Asia Music Chart, while also being named the “Best Asian Pop Song of the Month” in July.
Kim Hyun Joong is scheduled to return with his new song “Kiss Kiss” on July 14th through Mnet’s “M! Countdown!” He is expected to promote this track until the end of the month and begin overseas promotions in August. Starting from Japan, Kim Hyun Joong will visit China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam for press events and fan promotions in August. After that, he is planning to go on a four month concert tour, covering 12 to 13 cities in 10 countries.
