JYJ Junsu’s Twin Brother Juno to Debut in Japan with Hamasaki Ayumi

JYJ Junsu’s twin brother Juno will debut in Japan with a duet track featuring popular female singer Hamasaki Ayumi, local media reported today.

According to Juno’s Korean agency Media and Partners, Juno recently received a duet song request from Hamasaki Ayumi. Juno was already preparing for his first Japanese single and photo album, so he accepted the offer and joined the recording of Hamasaki Ayumi’s new single “Why” and new album “Five.” The release date is August 31st, which is also the same date that Juno’s Japanese debut single, “Fate,” will come out.

“The collaboration with Hamasaki Ayumi has special meanings to Juno. Through this opportunity, Juno will be able to publicize his name across Japan and the entire Asian region, prior to the release of his first single,” Juno’s representative said.

Juno has already debuted as a singer in China. For his Japanese debut, Juno has been working with a personal Japanese tutor. “Hamasaki Ayumi thought highly of Juno’s efforts to learn Japanese, even going as far to call him her ‘2nd brother,’” Media and Partners said.

Hamasaki Ayumi is one of the most influential pop artists in Japan, with the nickname “Empress of Pop.” With over 50 million records sold in Japan, she is the first female singer to top the Oricon charts eight times with studio albums, and the first artist to have a #1 album for 13 consecutive years since debut.
