Female Rock Group Sweet Revenge Releases "Rule Breaker" Mini Album and MV

When it comes to bands being highlighted in the modern K-pop word, who do you think of? I am sure most would think of a group like CN Blue or FT Island, but get ready for Sweet Revenge, a female rock group who are poised to take mainstream success.

Sweet Revenge’s first mini album ‘Rule Breaker’ was produced by Kim Sung Soo, who previously produced for Lee Juk and Kim Dong Ryul, and sound engineer, Ted Jensen, who previously worked with world famous artists Marilyn Manson, Metallica, and Seo Taiji.”

When your first mini album is engineered by someone who has worked with Marilyn Manson, Metallica, and Seo Taiji, that can only be a strong indication of what to expect. But, for those who don’t know, who are the girls who make up Sweet Revenge?

A nickname that has been attached to them is the, “SNSD of Hongdae.” This is because of their Hongdae origins, and also because of the vocalist’s resemblance to SNSD’s Taeyeon.

The band consists of drummer, Jang Hyun Ah, bassist Lee Hwa Yeon, guitarist Kim Mi Jung, and the Taeyeon lookalike, Kim So Young.

Since their indie origins in 2009, the group has released two small EPs, which despite the indie origins, got them a large fan base in Hongdae. Their music had stirred up interest for this mini album. To show off  how ready they are to perform with the big acts, their title track, “Rule Breaker” was made entirely by the members.

The mini album was released on August 25 and has four tracks:
Rule Breaker
– Space Monster intro
– Space Monster
– Love Virus

The title track “Rule Breaker” is a very uplifting track with a cute concept. For those who still have some sunshine and summer days left, play this one loud because it will do nothing but brighten your mood further. As for the content of the MV, well, you will have to watch below!

You can purchase the mini album on YesAsia so be sure to support the artist by purchasing the album
