Actress Im Soo Jung Joins Bae Yong Joon's Key East Entertainment
Another acting heavyweight joins the top stars in Bae Yong Joon’s management agency, Key East Entertainment. It was reported that actress Im Soo Jung, most recently seen in the Cannes entry “Come Rain, Come Shine” with Hyun Bin has signed with Key East. Im Soo Jung was formerly under the management of Sidus HQ.
“I feel that I need to grow as an actor, and challenge myself in the various aspects of the entertainment industry,” the actress stated.
“We will support Im Soo Jung so she may show different sides of herself in different projects,” Key East said in a statement, according to local news agencies.
Im Soo Jung debuted in 2001, on the drama “School 4.” Even then, she has already gained recognition for outstanding acting abilities. She starred with So Ji Sub in 2004’s “Sorry I Love You,” but has been more active in films.
She has gained a reputation for being a strong dramatic actress and has worked with some of the country’s A-list actors. Along with Moon Geun Young, she was one of the eponymous sisters in 2003’s “A Tale of Two Sisters,” the first Korean film to be screened in American theaters. She played a cancer-stricken young woman opposite Kim Rae Won in “…ing.” She similarly played a terminally ill patient in 2007’s “Happiness” and was Rain’s leading lady in the offbeat “I’m a Cyborg but That’s OK.” Im Soo Jung departed from her usual dramatic fare by taking the lead role opposite Gong Yoo in the 2010 romantic comedy “Finding Mr. Destiny.”
Im Soo Jung’s move to Key East Entertainment brings her under the same management as Choi Kang Hee, Lee Ji Ah, Joo Ji Hoon, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Soo Hyun, So Yi Hyun and Wang Ji Hye, among others.
