Female Singer Ivy to Comeback in First Half of 2012?
Ivy, who hasn’t been seen much in the K-Pop scene lately, may comeback in the first half of this year. A source close to Ivy told local media, “Ivy is carefully preparing her new album now. Her goal is to return in the first half of this year.”
Since her 2009 album, “I Be..,” Ivy has nearly disappeared from the public scene. That album, too, was released two years and eight months after her previous album. She did appear in the musical, “Kiss Me Kate,” in 2010 but has stayed away from the music industry for over two years now.
The reason for her long hiatus is largely due to her legal dispute with her former agency, Storm ENF. “She’s working on her new album, but the release could get delayed because of the lawsuit,” the source added.
Following a series of controversies over the last few years—including plagiarism allegations, countless dating rumors and an alleged sex tape scandal—Ivy has pretty much gone MIA and stepped away from her career as a singer. Her last album was released in 2009 and we haven’t seen any of her official promotions since January of 2010. She’s won numerous awards over her short career including the SBS Best Female Singer Award at the “2005 Ga Yo Dae Jun” and Mnet’s Best Female Solo Artist in 2007, among many others.
For those who don’t know Ivy, here’s her MV for “A-Ha.”
