Elizabeth Olsen Rumored to Take Lead Role in "Oldboy" Remake

The Olsen twins who grew up on the American sitcom “Full House” have a younger sister, Elizabeth, who is also an actress. Elizabeth Olsen is rumored to be in talks to play Kang Hye Jeong‘s role of sushi chef Mi Do for the American remake of “Oldboy.” The American remake of the Korean movie will be directed by none other than Spike Lee. Spike Lee is the director of “Do the Right Thing,” “Jungle Fever,” “Malcolm X,” “Bamboozled” and many other award winning films. Elizabeth Olsen starred in the 2011 movies “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “Silent House.”

“Oldboy” is a 2003 movie about a man who is locked in a hotel for 15 years. When he is finally released, he vows to take revenge on those who put him there. The film is based on a Japanese manga of the same name. In 2004, it won the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Previously there were talks that Will Smith was going to remake “Oldboy.” In the end, the American remake was going to happen. Check out a preview for the video below.
