ZE:A's Siwan Gets a New Acting Gig

ZE:A’s Im Siwan has added another project under his acting resume. Local news agencies report that the idol is confirmed to join the cast of MBC sitcom “Standby,” playing a high school student. He is also reported to have completed his first script reading with the rest of the cast that includes “Playful Kiss” actress Jung So Min.

In the sitcom, Im Siwan plays a high school student with high grades and perfect looks but is indifferent to those around him.

The ZE:A member has started to gain attention for his acting with his stint in the ratings hit “The Moon that Embraces the Sun.” He will next appear in KBS’ “The Equator Man,” playing the younger counterpart of Lee Jun Hyuk’s prosecutor character. “Standby” will be his first attempt at comic acting.

“Standby” is about professionals working in the fictional broadcast station TV11. It is set to begin airing in April.
