Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2012 - March Week 4
Big Bang continues their chart dominance this week. Even though they do not have more top 10 songs, they now have two of the top three songs. “Blue” repeats as No. 1 this week and “Fantastic Baby” moves up five spots to No. 3. “Fantastic Baby” has actually outscored “Blue” in many of our chart sources, but “Blue” still has a big edge in major TV stations. In addition, Big Bang also has “Bad Boy” at No. 8.
Denying Big Bang for the unprecedented top two spots is miss A’s “Touch,” which remains at No. 2. Big Bang’s songs competing against each other may have actually benefited miss A. The gap between “Blue” and “Touch” is only 20 points this week. Lets see if “Touch” will be able to recapture the top spot next week.
There is only one new song in the top 10 this week and it is a good one. 2AM, who had a very successful 2010 and was our chart champion that year, finally comes back after a year of hiatus. 2AM’s new mini-album titled, “F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Way of Love”. As the title suggests, the boys have come before fans with songs as beautiful as deep novels. The title track “I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me” is composed by Kim Do Hoon and co-written by Kim and 2AM’s main producer Hitman Bang. The music video stars 2AM member Jin Woon, who recently appeared on the KBS drama “Dream High 2”. This song has already overtaken Big Bang’s flurry of hits and became No. 1 on many internet charts. It will certainly challenge for the top spot on our chart next week.
