Big Bang Leaves Many Records as They Wrap Up “Alive” Promotions
Big Bang will wrap up their “Alive” promotions this week with their finale performance on SBS “Inkigayo” on April 29. After a brief rest, Big Bang will head to Japan for their Japan Tour concert.
Big Bang’s “Alive” promotion had special meanings as it was their first comeback after going through many incidents in the past year. However, it left many records as well, becoming one of the most memorable Big Bang albums in recent memory.
Shortly after the album’s release in March, all seven tracks in “Alive” dominated most online music charts. “Fantastic Baby,” for example, is still in the top 10 of most music charts, even after its release two months ago. The album itself has sold over 270,000 copies, becoming the highest selling album of the year so far.
Also, all three music videos from this album, “Blue,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “Bad Boy,” have recorded over 50 million view counts. The total view counts are all the more impressive considering they were released less than two months ago.
The “Alive” album has also made strides in overseas markets, without running any overseas promotions. It became the first Korean album to crack the Billboard 200 album charts, ranking at #150. It also donned the front page of the Grammy Awards’ official website, showing Big Bang’s growing influence around the world.
Meanwhile, Big Bang will go on an Arena Tour in Japan, covering five cities for 13 total concerts, which is expected to bring in over 150,000 fans.
