“Arang and the Magistrate’s” Lee Jun Ki Films Dangerous Scenes without a Stunt Double
Earlier today, MBC’s “Arang and the Magistrate” unveiled new teasers of its male lead Lee Jun Ki. In the stills, Lee Jun Ki’s Eun Oh manages to escape a dangerous situation on horseback.
Lee Jun Ki shot the horseback scene himself, wowing the cast and crew with his ability to handle his horse. He was able to complete the scene smoothly because of his hard work and practice prior to the shoot. Shin Min Ah expressed her admiration for male co-star, stating, “I’m very reassured thanks to Lee Jun Ki.”
Producers revealed that Lee Jun Ki shot all the action scenes without a stunt double. Despite hours of endless and exhausting retakes, Lee Jun Ki gave it his all until the end, impressing everyone present.
Based on a famous folklore, the fantasy drama takes place in the Joseon era. Shin Min Ah plays Arang, the daughter of the magistrate who is brutally murdered. She returns as a ghost with no recollection of her life and how she was murdered and goes around haunting every new magistrate who comes to town…that is until Eun Oh, played by Lee Jun Ki, shows up. The two eventually fall in love.
“Arang and the Magistrate” will premiere on MBC on August 15 at 9:55PM KST.
