Koo Ja Cheol
The captain of South Korea’s national soccer team, Koo Ja Cheol led South Korea to its first-ever bronze medal in soccer by defeating Japan. He’s only 23 but he’s already one of the best soccer players in Korea. Now playing in Germany, Koo is only going to get better with more experience.
Seo Hyo Won
Seo Hyo Won is part of the South Korean table tennis team. Although she didn’t get to play at the Olympics, she attracted much attention for her celebrity-like beauty. Hope to see more action at the next Olympics!
Ki Sung Yeung
Alongside Koo Ja Cheol, the 23-year old Ki Sung Yeung is one of the most popular soccer players from the South Korean squad. He’s got the looks and the height (6 ft. 2 in.), but most fans fall for his baby face expression.
Ki Bo Bae
Ki Bo Bae is the world’s top ranked archer and she didn’t disappoint by winning the gold medal at the 2012 Games. She’s often compared to Chae Yeon for her looks. During the Olympics, she went public with her relationship with Oh Jin Hyuk, who also won the gold for the South Korean archery team.
Park Tae Hwan
Perhaps the most popular and widely recognized athlete from this list, Park Tae Hwan won two silver medals at the 2012 Olympics. He was once linked to Wonder Girls’ Sunye and they’ve been involved in countless dating rumors in the past.
Son Yeon Jae
Son Yeon Jae is a South Korean rhythmic gymnast who’s often compared to Kim Yuna for her beautiful looks and athleticism. Although she didn’t qualify for any medals at the Olympics, she became the first South Korean rhythmic gymnast to qualify and reach the All-around Finals at the Olympics.
Lee Yong Dae
Lee Yong Dae is a South Korean badminton player who’s won the gold medal at the 2008 Games, and a bronze at the 2012 Olympics. He’s got the star power and personality (his wink at the camera in 2008 is still being played on TV), and at the tender age of 23, he’s still got at least 2 more Olympics to play in!
Kim Ji Yeon wrote history at the 2012 Olympics by winning South Korea’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in fencing. Her popularity only grew after she took off her mask, as many male fans were stunned by her beautiful looks. At only 24 years old, she has a long career ahead of her!
