The PSY Effect? "The Ellen Show" Records Personal High in Ratings!

As previously reported, PSY made a surprise appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, teaching both Ellen DeGeneres and American pop star Britney Spears his iconic “Gangnam Style” dance. It’s been reported that Tuesday’s episode, featuring PSY, Britney, and Simon Cowell, recorded the show’s personal high in ratings.

On September 11, “Hollywood Reporter” published, “‘Ellen’ scored a 3.0 in total households in metered markets, and its highest rating since the 2006-07 season. That projects Ellen as taking an 8 percent share of the viewing audience, which would be her best in that measure since the show went on the air in 2003.”

Following the show, Britney tweeted, “LOL, that u @psy_oppa for the surprise dance lesson yesterday. @TheEllenShow was going off Gangnam Style!” and attached the video of the show. 

In related news, Billboard uploaded a photo of PSY going “Gangnam Style” with Britney and Ellen as the top photo for “The Week’s Hottest Music Pics” and placed the image on the front page of billboard.com.

PSY will also be performing “Gangnam Style” live on NBC’s “The Today Show” this Friday, September 14.
