What if G-Dragon's "Missing You" Featured IU instead of Jaurim's Kim Yoon Ah? (IU's Top Five English Covers)
G-Dragon’s mini album “One of A Kind” was released in mid-September, and I found myself listening to the track “Missing You” featuring Jaurim’s Kim Yoon Ah (listen to the teaser on Soompi) on repeat. By the way, G-Dragon is performing “Missing You” live on “GD Friends Live Worldwide” via Naver Music live stream. And, then I found myself thinking about IU. Can you imagine IU’s voice being featured on the track “Missing You” with G-Dragon?
IU is best known for pop songs like Marshmallow, You and I, and Good Day. With her formula image, practiced smile, calculated-cutesy-moves, her 45-degree head dip, and bubblegum pop songs, one can easily overlook how versatile IU’s talent really is.
Until one sits the girl down in her pajamas (or glamorous stage outfit), gives her a guitar, and asks her to sing.
I don’t know if IU personally chose the songs she covered or came up with the musical arrangements, but the girl has got great taste and talent. She gets to the heart of the song and her achingly sweet voice hits the listener in the heart. I had forgotten how sexy IU’s voice can be when she lets her voice become husky, or draws out her notes, or actually gets to sing a song with some meaning.
