Super Junior's Kim Kibum to Star in Chinese Drama
Super Junior’s Kim Kibum will have his first role in a Chinese drama.
On December 6, the actor announced through SM Entertainment that he has been cast for the lead role in the Chinese drama “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils.”
The drama is based upon a popular martial arts fiction book by the same name. The story is about a group of diverse personalities who try to save martial arts. The drama is scheduled to air in the second half of the coming year. Kim Kibum will play the Duan Yu, the kind and humble prince of Dali. Duan Yu is a pacifist and leaves his palace to escape learning martial arts. However by chance he learns martial arts and becomes a master.
Kim Kibum said, “I’m honored to be part of a great drama series. Even though I am nervous since this is my first Chinese role, I will work hard to portray Duan Yu by having many talks with the director.
The drama will be directed by Yan Jianmei who is known for the award winning film “Dragon Inn” and will also star popular Chinese actors Wallace Chung and Zhang Meng.
