PSY Is the Korean Celebrity with the Most Weibo Followers

PSY probably never expected this one! Recently it was revealed that PSY has the most number of followers for the social network Weibo out of all the South Korean celebrities. November 8, 2012 was the day that PSY created his Weibo account and as of February 6 he has 7,979,000 followers.

On February 1, PSY had his first Chinese performance for the “Eastern Satellite Chunjie Wanhui” recording. He taught Lin Chiling how to do the horse dance for “Gangnam Style.” It looks as though PSY’s Weibo followers increased after his Chinese promotional activities.

Besides Asia, PSY also gained a lot of attention once again in the U.S. on February 3 when he appeared in his first U.S. commercial for “Wonderful Pistachio.” The commercial played during the Super Bowl.

After finishing up his Chinese activities, PSY will join the Brazil Carnival Festival that will be held on February 8. Then he will appear in Malaysia. On February 25, he will also be a part of President-elect Park Geun-hye’s inauguration ceremony.

It looks as though the PSY train is still far from stopping. Oppa Gangnam Style!
