Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2013 - February Week 3
Big changes on our chart this week, as three of the top five songs are brand new songs in the top 10, including the new No. 1 song. SISTAR 19’s “Gone Not Around Any Longer” moves up from No. 20 all the way to the top. It is hardly a surprise as this song is No. 1 on many charts in Korea, including two weeks on top of M!Countdown already. Like the main group, this sub-unit of SISTAR is enjoying huge popularity in Korea as one of the top girl groups now with their sexy but healthy concept. “Gone Not Around Any Longer” is a sad hip-hop ballad track with Brave Brothers’ signature style. It is very different from SISTAR’s vibrant dance hits. The song is about a love that blooms and withers like a flower. SISTAR19′s Hyorin and Bora are able to express the pain and emptiness of a break-up in their own sexy and sad way.
The big surge of “Gone Not Around Any Longer” pushes last week’s top two songs down a spot each: Bae Chi Gi’s two week champion “Shower Of Tears” is at No. 2 this week, while CNBlue’s “I’m Sorry” is at No. 3.
Rounding out the top five is two more new songs. Up seven spots to No. 4 is 4men’s latest hit “Hello It’s Me.” The trio with great vocals is coming back for part 1 of their fifth album “The True Story.” The title track, “Hello It’s Me” is composed by Vibe’s Yoon Min Soo and written by both Min Yeon Jae and Yoon Min Soo. It is about someone who cannot forget their ex-lover. It is at No. 4 this week, tying the group’s previous high on the chart two years ago with “One Time In Your Life.”
Moving up 12 spots to No. 5 is Ali’s “Eraser” from her second mini-album of the same title. This song eclipsed her previous solo chart high last year with “Don’t Act Countrified” (No. 6). This song is about a person going through heartache from breakup. Actress Choi Ji Woo stars in this song’s MV.
