Super Junior's Sungmin to Play Lead Role in Musical "Jack the Ripper" Again
Super Junior‘s Sungmin will be starring in the musical theater production titled “Jack the Ripper” for the third year in a row. The musical is based on England’s infamous serial killer “Jack the Ripper” of 1888 and it first went on stage in 2009. It has steadily garnered attention since then. It is also the most watched Korean musical theater production in Japan.
Sungmin will play the role of Daniel, who gets himself into a dangerous deal for the love of his life. He has been playing the same role since 2011. “Jack the Ripper” with Sungmin playing the role of Daniel will begin its ticket sales on April 19 and will be on stage starting May 29 at the Sungnam Art Center.
Moreover, Sungmin has been playing the lead role in the Japanese musical “Summer Snow” since April 12. He plays Jin Ha, who lost his parents to an unfortunate accident and has been taking care of his two younger siblings since then. Currently, “Summer Snow” is receiving many positive reviews in Japan.
Meanwhile, Super Junior will be continuing their “Super Show 5” concert tour in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru, starting April 21.
