On May 9, the 49th Baek Sang Arts Awards was held at Kyung Hee University in Seoul. Korea’s representing stars from both the television and film entertainment industry attended this highly regarded event.

Attendees included Yoo Jae Suk, Jung Eun Ji Park Yoo Chun, Park Shin Hye, Shin Bora, Kim Min Hee, Ryu Seung Ryong, Kim Dong Wan, Han Ye Ri and more!

Grand Prize (TV) – Yoo Jae Suk

“More than anything, whenever I give these kinds of acceptance speeches, I regret my days as a student. If I read some more books and stuff, I would be able to express my heart better… As always, I sincerely thank you.”

Best Leading Actor – Son Hyun Joo (SBS “The Chaser”)

“This is my first time at the Baek Sang Awards. It’s very glamorous. I will hurry and run over to my senior Park Geun Hyung and show him this award. Dinner is on me tonight.”

Best Leading Actress – Kim Hee Ae (JTBC “A Wife’s Credentials“)

Best New Actor – Lee Hee Jun (KBS 2TV “You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly“)

Best New Actress – Jung Eun Ji (tvN “Answer Me 1997“)

Jung Eun Ji garnered attention for including Hong Yoo Kyung‘s name when she was thanking her A Pink members.

Best TV Personality (Male) – Kim Byung Man (SBS “Rules of the Jungle“)

“Every time I go to film a new season of ‘Rules of the Jungle’ and return, I age about 3 years. But after looking at this award, I feel like I’m getting younger.”

Best TV Personality (Female) – Shin Bora (KBS 2TV “Gag Concert“)

Most Popular (Male) – Park Yoo Chun (MBC “I Miss You“)

Most Popular (Female) – Yuri (SBS “Fashion King“)

Yuri was not present for the awards show on this night.

Grand Prize (Movie) – Ryu Seung Ryong (“Miracle in Cell No.7“)

“(In the tone of his film character, Yong Gu) Thank you. Hey Yeseung, I got an award, a Baek Sang award! I didn’t even know the Grand Prize was left. Beans are not protein but vitamins. I heard that a lot of elementary students get that wrong on tests. I will be an actor that will go through transformations but also an actor that never changes.”

Best Leading Actor – Ha Jung Woo (“Berlin“)

Ha Jung woo was not present for the awards show on this night.

Best Leading Actress – Kim Min Hee (“Very Ordinary Couple“)

“I am so happy but my voice is trembling. I always want to do well. That’s how I feel. I lack in many ways but I will try my best to show you good sides of me.”

Best New Actor – Ji Dae Han (“My Little Hero“)

Most Popular (Male) – Kim Dong Wan (“Deranged“)

“I received the Most Popular award today but next year, I will try to win an award based on my acting.”
