Prosecution Drops Charges Against Son Ho Young

The Prosecution has suspended the indictment of singer Son Ho Young, who attempted suicide after his girlfriend’s death on May 23.

Son Ho Young was charged with setting a car on fire while attempting suicide by lighting a coal briquette inside his car, intending to kill himself by gas poisoning.

The West Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office revealed on July 19 that it decided on dropping the charge since it was Son Ho Young’s first offense and there were no other damages besides setting his own car on fire by mistake. 

The Prosecutors’ Office also stated that Son Ho Young showed no signs of attempting suicide aside again in the future after consultation with a psychiatrist specializing in suicide prevention.
