IU Gets a Short New Bob for the First Time in Three Years

On the October 23, on the live video broadcast of SBS radio program, “Jang Ki Ha’s Great Radio,” IU appeared for the first time with her new short hair cut, after three years of long locks. 

When listeners tuned in saying that her new bob is pretty, she said, “I didn’t know this was a video broadcast radio. I just remembered as I was coming up to the studio, and that I didn’t bring my hat.”

When Jang Ki Ha asked why she wanted to cover up her pretty hair, she explained, “I wanted to hide it as much as possible. My promotional activities for this album are fairly short, and I wanted my new hair to be a surprise during my final performances next week. But I ended up revealing it here.”

She continued, “It’s still a little awkward for me, because it’s my first drastic cut in a long time. For three years, I had been just growing it out without so much as a trim, and now it feels a little empty without my old hair.”

While new and unfamiliar, she explained that she still likes it. “My face is a little round, but now that my hair is shorter, it makes my face look more slim. I’m finding out for the first time in 21 years. I like it. And it’s much faster to shampoo, as well. That’s really nice!”
