SM Will Be Opening a Hologram Theater With Universal Studios Japan

SM will be collaborating with Universal Studios Japan to open a hologram theater in Japan called the “SMTown Hologram V-Theater with Universal Studios Japan.” Starting on December  13 to February 16, 2014, the theater will be showing hologram live performances of SM artists.

This is new state-of-the-art technology that will not only allow fans in Japan to watch realistic performances by their favorite artists, but will allow presentation of a variety of contents, and many are looking forward to this new theater as a cultural theater, as well.

Where Universal Studios has as its global attraction hits such as “Spiderman” or “Shrek,” the “SMTown Hologram V-Theater” presents an opportunity to show the quality and influence of SM contents.

The theater has an exhibit as well as performance area, and after a chance to look at pictures, costumes, and props of artists, visitors will be able to watch ‘live’ performances by artists such as DBSK, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, Shinee, and EXO.

This past August, at the “S.M.ART Exhibit” held at COEX, SM showed a hologram performance for the first time, and in January, held an outdoor Girls’ Generation V-Concert.  With this new hologram theater, SM plans to more actively advance into the international market.
