Park Shi Hoo Confirmed to be Cast in Chinese Film

On December 23, news agencies report that Park Shi Hoo will be returning to the big screen as his casting for the Chinese film “Scent” (working title) was confirmed.

“Scent” will be directed by Jessey Tsang Tsui-Shan, who has won the Best Rookie Director Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards for the film “Big Blue Lake.”

Park Shi Hoo will be playing the role of Kang In Joon, who is a Korean interior designer. His co-star is Chen Ran, who is a rising star and is being named as one of the hottest fashionistas in China at the moment.

Even during his hiatus, Park Shi Hoo has always been ranked high on popularity polls as a Hallyu star in China and Japan. Also, his official fan club has been receiving more than a million hits every day.

Park Shi Hoo’s agency commented, “Park Shi Hoo has decided to do this film after much thought since he wants to repay his fans, who believed, supported and waited for him. Filming will be taking place in both Shanghai and Jeju Island.”

They continued, “The popular drama ‘Alice in Cheongdamdong’ has started broadcasting in China and Japan. Many of Park Shi Hoo’s films and dramas have been aired in China to great success but this is his first time in a Chinese project. As much as Park Shi Hoo is diligently preparing for this new challenge, we hope that you will give him a lot of support.”

“Scent” will begin filming next month, which is when Park Shi Hoo will leave for Shanghai.

Meanwhile, Park Shi Hoo has been taking some time off after being involved in an arduous legal battle with a celebrity-in-training over matters of sexual abuse.
