We reported earlier that Kang Ji Young had notified DSP that she has no plans to re-sign her contract, due to end in April, to stay with the agency and in Kara. In the report, Kang Ji Young’s father stated that DSP media had shown no particular reaction to this notification, but now after her intentions have hit the public media, DSP has finally revealed its stance on the subject matter.
DSP stated through a press released, “On January 8, not through a contents certification, but through a notice containing [Kang Ji Young’s] stance on the extension of her contract, she relayed that ‘without a new agreement, I will not extend the contract.’ We planned to have additional discussions with Kang Ji Young regarding the contract extension. But due to the unwitting report on the subject matter, Kang Ji Young has reaffirmed her intentions, and we have been notified that she still wants to leave Kara and walk the path of an actress.”
DSP concluded with remarks on Kara’s future with, “Starting from April, we will reorganize Kara centering on Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, and Goo Hara, and plan to continue with promotions.”
While it is sad to see another member leave Kara after Nicole, we wish Kang Ji Young the best in her future plans, as well as Kara.
