ZE:A's Dongjun Cast as Male Lead for 'Goong' Musical, Leaves for Japan

Member of idol group ZE:A, Dongjun has been cast for the leading role of musical “Goong.”

Thanks to his applaudable performance in the web drama “Aftermath,” the young star caught the producers eyes, and was cast as the male lead for the musical. He will be playing Crown Prince Shin.

A representative of “Goong” commented, “We cast him for the role of Lee Shin as we value that Dongjun is a talented entertainer with both singing and acting skill, but he has also showcased his own charms on television. We felt even more satisfied after personally seeing Dongjun practice and show his excellent singing and acting skills.”

Dongjun himself revealed his thoughts on being cast, “I consider it an honor to be able to stand on stage through a popular musical like ‘Goong.’ I am preparing hard for my acting and singing to show my fans a new side of me through the role of Shin.”

“Goong” has been performed annually in Japan for five years now, and this year, the shows will take place in ACT Theater located in Akasaka from May 10 to 24. Other idols confirmed for the musical are SHINee‘s Taemin and U-KissSoohyun, Kiseop, Hoon, and Kevin.

In order to participate in the press conference held in Tokyo, Dongjun left for Japan on March 25.
