Son Seung Yeon's Cover of "Let It Go" Currently Battling for Top 10 in Ryan Seacrest's 'Favorite 'Let It Go' Cover' Contest!
Son Seung Yeon’s cover of “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen” is making its way to American pop listeners. Representative American host Ryan Seacrest, most well-known as the host of “American Idol,” is currently holding a contest on his website, www.ryanseacrest.com, for the top covers for Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go.” Anyone can vote once every 12 hours! Passing the first and second rounds, narrowing the initial group of 25 down 20, and then to 15, Son Seung Yeon’s cover of “Let It Go” is currently in the battle for a spot in the top 10. After the third round, semi-finals will be held, and on April 1, the cover with the most votes will be crowned the winner.
Regardless of never having promoted in the United States, Son Seung Yeon is the only Korean singer to have been featured in several major American publications such as “Entertainment Weekly” and “Hollywood Reporter.” Her cover of “Let It Go” from this past February hit over three million views on YouTube, and over four million hits on Facebook. We’ll see if she can take the crown for the ‘favorite ‘Let It Go’ cover,’ as well!
This coming April 1, Son Seung Yeon will be releasing a new single, entitled “I Can Live Now,” following up her previous songs, “I’m Not Crazy” and “I Can Hear Your Voice” for the last song in her breakup ballad trilogy.
