“The Moon that Embraces the Sun” to Air in Japan This Summer
The immense popularity of Kim Soo Hyun can be felt again, as “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” has been confirmed to air in Japan this upcoming summer.
A representative of his agency KeyEast commented on May 30, “MBC’s drama ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun’ starring Kim Soo Hyun will air on Japanese national channel NHK starting this July.”
“NHK was encouraged to make the decision thanks to Kim Soo Hyun’s great popularity in Japan and the viewers’ interest in him,” the source explained.
In 2012, the drama recorded impressive viewer ratings and reached an average of 42.2%, making “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” one of the year’s biggest hits. Thanks to the success, the drama was picked up by NHK’s channel BS Premium, and Kim Soo Hyun became widely known also in Japan. Furthermore, his latest work “Man from the Stars” recently begun airing on cable channel DATV.
The first episode of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” will air on NHK in July.
