Producers of "Superman Returns" Address Criticism about Mothers' Frequent Appearance
The producers of KBS2TV’s “Superman Returns” have responded to the recent criticism about the frequent appearance of mothers on the show.
The official announcement comes after the viewers expressed their dissatisfaction with the current direction of the program through KBS’ homepage.
On the November 16 episode of the show, Tablo and Kang Hye Jung travelled to Jeju Island with their daughter Haru to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. However, many viewers felt that the trip contrasts with the show’s initial purpose, which is to show the fathers looking after their children by themselves.
According to one of the complaints, the 48 hours are originally supposed to be spent without the mothers. The viewer demanded less frequent appearance of the children’s mothers in order to secure the fulfillment of the show’s original goal.
In response to the viewers’ opinion, KBS expressed their stance on the issue on November 19. “To celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, singer Tablo and actress Kang Hye Jung were seen visiting a place that brings back great amount of memories for the family. They had a very meaningful time together. The mothers participated in the filming only before and after the 48 hours,” the channel explained.
“From now on, we will take the viewers’ opinion into consideration and do our best to limit the appearance of the mothers,” KBS promised to be more attentive in the future.
Meanwhile, “Superman Returns” airs on Sundays at 4:50 p.m.
