EXID Climbs to Top of Music Charts After Performance Fancams Gain Attention
Five-member girl group EXID has been gaining an immense amount of attention after fancams of their performances became a hot topic on online communities.
EXID’s “Up & Down” has continued to climb to the top of real-time music charts as a result of fancams of member Hani going viral. These fancams are said to have been recorded during EXID’s performances for soldiers at a military base.
Normally, songs reach their highest point on music charts immediately after its release and begin to fall lower on the ranks thereafter. However, “Up & Down”—released earlier this year on August 27—is currently at its highest peak three months following its release.
Just three to four days prior to November 23, the track had been outside the range of the top 100. With the attention that the fancams are currently earning, the song broke through the 100 mark and climbed its way up to the top 10, and has maintained its spot in the top 10-20 on music sites, including Mnet, Soribada, MelOn, Monkey3, and others, ever since. It even hit the number five spot on Monkey3 at one point.
